EVENT: First Saturday

WHEN: Saturday, March 2nd

HOURS: 10am to 2pm                                                                                                                              

WHERE: Brockdale Park at Lake Lavon in Lucas;  1625 Brockdale Park Road, Lucas

COST: $5  per adult, $3 kids 3-12, under 3 is free.

DIRECTIONS: 1625 Brockdale Park Road. Brockdale Park – cross streets: Lucas Road (FM 3286) & Brockdale Park Road.
Take U.S. 75 to Allen, exit Bethany Road. Go east 6.1 miles (Bethany becomes Lucas Road). At light go east on FM 3286 approximately 0.6 miles. Turn on to Brockdale Park Road and go approximately 1 mile. BPRC is on the left..

 

  • 10am to 11am the raptors will be out to meet up-close
  • 11am, watch our education ambassdors eat their meal. Warning: some are dainty and others make quite a mess of their food.
  • 12pm Take a prairie hike
  • Fun activities for the whole family
  • Learn about the raptors and prairie of north Texas

At this time the park is only open to the public during these First Saturday events.

Rods n’ Raptors Kids’ Fishing Derby June 2nd

Join us for our annual Rods n Raptors kids’ fishing derby. Poles and bait supplied. Volunteers from the Lake Ray Hubbard Bass Club will help the kids with everything!

Prizes in lots of categories; biggest fish, smallest fish and most caught.

A short raptor program will follow the derby and then prizes will be awarded.

Fishing from 8:30am to noon (gate opens at 8am). Raptor program at 12:15 followed by award ceremony

$5 a person
