Six times a year the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center hosts Raptor Photo Days, unique events where registered participants can photograph our avian ambassadors up close. Our event is schedule to begin just before sunrise for optimal lighting.  Raptors will be perched in natural settings to create fantastic photo opportunities.

Registration is limited to 25 participants per Photo Day

Named after the tallgrass prairie that once covered more than 23,500 square miles of Texas from the Red River to San Antonio, Blackland Prairie Raptor Center’s mission is to promote and enhance populations of raptors through rehabilitation, conservation, and education initiatives.

Conservation & Restoration

Our Center is committed to restoring our 66-acre campus back to Blackland Prairie in an effort to support local and migratory raptors and all other wildlife.

Rehabilitation

The Blackland Prairie Raptor Center is the only facility in North Texas dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured birds of prey.

Education & Training

Through education initiatives, our Center is creating tomorrow’s ambassadors by inspiring people of all ages and walks of life to connect with and advocate for the natural world.
