First Saturday – April 6th – Migration!
At this time the park is only open to the public during these First Saturday events.
Please join us on this First Saturday event to learn all about migrating birds. Meet bird banders from the Heard Banding station and see how they do their research (and help them too!). Get yourself banded as well! See what it takes for a raptor to migrate long distances and the problems they face along the way. Open to everyone from 10am to 2pm. $5 adults, $3 kids, under 3 is free.

HOURS: 10am to 2pm
WHERE: Brockdale Park at Lake Lavon in Lucas; 1625 Brockdale Park Road, Lucas
COST: $5 per adult, $3 kids 3-12, under 3 is free
DIRECTIONS: 1625 Brockdale Park Road. Brockdale Park – cross streets: Lucas Road (FM 3286) & Brockdale Park Road. Take U.S. 75 to Allen, exit Bethany Road. Go east 6.1 miles (Bethany becomes Lucas Road). At the light go east on FM 3286 for approximately 0.6 miles. Turn on to Brockdale Park Road and go approximately 1 mile. BPRC is on the left.
