BPRC Raptor Educational Programs
There’s no better way to learn about the birds of prey in North Texas than to meet them in person!
If you’re interested in a booking a program or have questions, please click on the Schedule a Program form below!
Blackland Prairie Raptor Center’s birds of prey have many years of experience introducing children and adults to the world of raptors. These hawks, owls, and falcons are well trained, and with the assistance of BPRC education specialists, show you what makes them an important part of our environment. We also have owl pellets for sale!
On-Site and Outreach Educational Programs
Whether you come to us or we come to you, we offer engaging educational experiences for all ages. Join us at BPRC for a great day of learning in a natural setting with Lavon Lake as the backdrop. Our park features pavilions, an amphitheater, restrooms, and trails, and we offer raptor presentations as well as guided hikes through native Blackland Prairie—an endangered ecosystem with unique plant life. We can accommodate up to 200 participants for on-site programs.
Alternatively, we can bring our presentations—approximately 45 minutes long—to your location. These are available to schools, homeschool groups, youth organizations, libraries, scouts, and more. Each year, we present to over 30,000 people across North Texas and Oklahoma. Group sizes can range from small groups to entire schools; for schools, we recommend no more than 150 at a time and can offer back-to-back sessions as needed.
